Event Cards

There are 15 cards: 10 blank cards and 5 event cards. They can be used in the classic races and, mainly, in the multiple stage Grand Tours.

There are not many events (only 5 out of 15) because they should not be very relevant for the game.

Cards are shuffled and then piled face down. A card is turned up before each round. If it is an event card, it will affect the current round until a new card is turned up for the next round.

In the first round, the starting round for all the cyclists, it is better not to draw any event.

So a blank card can be used, or if an event is drawn, there is no need to follow it.

Using cards makes the game more real, complicates strategy and makes it easier to count the total number of rolls. This number helps to improve the ranking system and to calculate the average "speed" of the stage winner.

Puncture

The rider that rolls a double (same value on both dice) in this round, has to remain on the box it is until its next turn.

Fall

The rider that rolls a double remains on the spot, and as it is a fall, the riders which are on the same box fall too. The riders on its left, if there were odd numbers on the dice roll. The ones on its right, if the numbers were even.

Side Wind

No more than 5 riders are allowed on the same box in this round. It is possible to go through a box occupied by 5 riders, but no more riders can stay on it.  If a rider has to stop on a box which is already full, it will remain on the previous one, as long as it is not full (with less than 5 riders).

Rain

Bonus counters cannot be used in this round. The riders can draft and get a bonus counter, but they cannot be used to increase a riders’ movement. This effect does not apply in the last 10 boxes before the finish line.
